Learn How Gray Divorce can be Especially Traumatic for Adult Children
Professionals helping families with the rising number of gray divorces will want to attend this very special event to learn firsthand the traumatic and long-term impact that adult children can have when their parents divorce later in life. Young adults who have gone through this trauma also will want to attend to learn coping strategies and have a place where their experiences will be respected rather than dismissed.
This two-part virtual event on Friday, October 30, Amplifying the Voices of Adult Children of Divorce will feature an educational Symposium from 12 to 2 p.m. Keynoter Noelle Fintshuel Oxenhandler, co-author of A Grief Out of Season: When Your Parents Divorce in Your Adult Years, experienced her parents’ divorce as an adult and will present why she and co-author, Dr. Nancy Hillard, wrote this seminal book. Noelle will share ways for adults to deal with parents getting divorced late in life and how to cope with their own distress. Personal stories of Adult Children of Divorce presented by Lauren Behrman, PhD, Nicole Goldstein, and Robyn Mann, Esq.
